The EU voted on 14 November 2024 to back the Commission's proposal to delay the EUDR by one year. The new application dates are 30 December 2025 for large operators and traders and 30 June 2026 for small and micro enterprises.
A revised version of the regulation is expected in 2025 to clarify timing and country risk classifications.
The delay and the pending country risk classifications determine when palm oil and soy shipments to the EU must carry deforestation-free proof. Traders may adjust sourcing ahead of 2025, but near-term prices are not affected.
