USDA's February WASDE lowered its 2025 US milk production forecast by 300 million pounds to 226.9 billion pounds, citing lower cow inventories. The agency raised its 2025 cheese price forecast to $1.88 per pound, while cutting butter, nonfat dry milk and dry whey forecasts.
The updated federal order price formulas take effect June 1, 2025.
