The White House published a list of exemptions from new reciprocal tariffs, including potash, certain herbicides and pesticides, peat, and veterinary vaccines. Agriculture groups had lobbied for these carveouts, though no food products that the US does not produce were exempted.
Exempting potash lowers expected fertilizer cost increases for US farmers, easing pressure on corn and other crop input budgets. The result partly offsets the cost-push from other tariffs.
