US natural gas futures rose to a five-week high on forecasts of above-normal heat through mid-September and expected higher feedgas flows to LNG export plants. Gains were also supported by a 3% rise in oil prices after Iran resumed attacks.
Stronger LNG export demand and heat-driven power burn support US gas prices, which feed into ethanol and nitrogen fertilizer costs.
