Malaysia banned chicken exports in June 2022 to address domestic prices, and Indonesia lifted its crude palm oil export ban in May before scrapping its levy until end-August. Analysts expect high cooking oil and chicken prices to persist in the region in the coming weeks.
Export restrictions and levy changes in the two largest palm oil exporters reshape regional supply flows and keep palm oil prices supported. Poultry export curbs also affect feed demand for regional chicken production.
