USDA's Grain Transportation Report covers year-to-date U.S. grain export sales for 2021/22. Projected U.S. grain exports are 12% below 2020/21, with wheat exports at their lowest level in recent years while corn and soybean exports remain robust.
Unshipped export balances are down 26% and cumulative shipments down 16% from the prior year.
Weaker wheat export pace reduces demand for U.S. wheat and rail and barge transportation, which pressures wheat prices. Corn and soybean demand remains firm, which limits downside for those markets.
