Senior Chinese negotiator Li Chenggang is heading to Washington to meet US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Treasury officials. Discussions will cover soybean purchases and technology export restrictions, and China is expected to seek removal of fentanyl-related tariffs.
The trip follows earlier talks in Geneva, London, and Stockholm.
Progress on soybean purchase commitments would support US soybean prices, while stalled talks prolong the loss of Chinese demand for US oilseeds.
