USDA's Grains and Oilseeds Outlook projects 2024/25 corn yield at 181 bushels per acre, with planted area at 91.0M acres and harvested area at 83.1M acres. The outlook also forecasts lower production, higher domestic use, increased exports and higher ending stocks versus 2023/24.
Higher projected demand and exports combined with lower production point to tighter balance sheets, which is supportive for corn prices, though ending stocks rising offsets some of that.
