Quantum Hedging's final harvest yield analysis, based on commercial seed plot results, finds U.S. corn yields finished modestly below 2024. Pockets of strength were seen in South Dakota, Minnesota, Indiana and Ohio, but these gains did not offset weakness in the Core Belt.
The analysis suggests USDA's late-season upward revisions may overstate actual yields.
If realized yields are below USDA's estimates, supply may be tighter than the official numbers indicate, which could support corn prices. The impact depends on how far the model's signal diverges from the final USDA figures.
