CBOT most-active soybean futures fell 31 cents, or 2.2%, to $13.85-3/4 a bushel, their biggest drop since October 12, 2020. Rains across Brazil and Argentina improved the supply outlook, and CBOT soymeal and soyoil also declined.
USDA announced export sales of 132,000 tonnes of soybeans to China for 2021/22 shipment.
Improved South American rainfall reduces yield risk for the main export competitor, pressuring soybean and soymeal prices. The China purchase provides some offsetting demand support for the new crop.
