India's palm oil imports rose 12.4% in May to 769,000 metric tons, the highest since January, as lower prices prompted traders to buy more refined palm oil. Crude palm oil was offered near $948 a ton CIF for July delivery, below soyoil and sunflower oil.
Strong Indian demand at discounted prices supports Malaysian palm oil futures, which had hit three-month lows, and makes palm a competitive vegetable oil for feed buyers.
