Industry representatives told a Commons committee that non-tariff trade barriers, such as non-scientific sanitary and phytosanitary rules and delays in biotech approvals, are becoming more common as tariffs fall. Canadian Cattlemen's and Canola Growers officials said these barriers create uncertainty for demand and prices.
