Iowa remained the top U.S. corn producer for the 24th consecutive year, with a near-record 2017 crop. Production was 5% below the 2016 record for corn and 1% below for soybeans.
USDA's final estimates were released January 12.
Iowa's large output confirms a plentiful U.S. corn supply, which supports the bearish outlook for feed grain prices.
