The French government published a national strategy to end "embodied deforestation" from its imports of soy, palm oil, beef, cocoa and wood by 2030. It also calls for an EU-wide deforestation policy by mid-2019.
EU rules on deforestation-linked imports could eventually restrict or add compliance costs for soy and palm oil flows into Europe. For feed buyers, the near-term price effect is small because no binding measure exists yet.
