Grain futures slipped after USDA's first 2019-20 estimates showed corn ending stocks well above expectations, with corn falling more than 1% and soybeans less than 0.5%. USDA put 2019 corn production at 15.030 billion bushels and yield at 176 bushels per acre, both above trade guesses.
Analysts said the initial selling was driven by high-frequency traders and faded quickly.
Corn supplies larger than the trade expected lower the price outlook for feed grains, though the muted follow-through suggests the market may not hold the lower levels.
