World Grain reviews rice markets after the September WASDE cut 2019-20 U.S. rice production to 5.95 million tonnes and world production to 494.22 million tonnes. Global exports were cut to 45.12 million tonnes, and futures jumped on the revisions.
Lower U.S. and world rice supplies and exports support higher rough rice prices, though world ending stocks remain record large. The effect on feed-grade markets is limited.
