The Nebraska Corn Board and Nebraska Corn Growers Association urged residents to submit comments to the EPA by November 29 on the Renewable Fuel Standard. They argue the EPA should account for all ethanol gallons waived through small refinery exemptions.
The EPA issued 31 additional small refinery waivers in August.
Waivers that reduce required ethanol blending lower corn demand from ethanol plants. If the EPA reverses course and accounts for those gallons, corn demand would rise.
