The U.S. dollar hit a 3-1/2-month high against a basket of currencies on March 8 on expectations of strong U.S. growth and rising inflation. Higher Treasury yields also boosted the greenback's safe-haven appeal, and the dollar had rebounded about 2.5% year-to-date after falling in late 2020.
A firmer dollar makes dollar-priced grains, oilseeds and feed ingredients more expensive for non-U.S. buyers, which can weigh on export demand and prices.
