The Greens/EFA group sent a letter to the European Commission restating Parliament's demands for an EU rule on imported deforestation. The demands include protecting all ecosystems, indigenous rights and due diligence for all products without a minimal-risk category.
The Commission's proposal is expected on 17 November.
Tighter due-diligence demands could raise compliance costs for soy and palm oil imports into the EU, but this is a political position with no direct price effect yet.
