Ukraine harvested a record 32.8 million tons of wheat in 2021 on a larger sown area and favourable weather. Wheat exports for nine months reached 13.1 million tons worth $3.15 billion, at an average price of $240 per ton versus $198 last year.
A record Ukrainian wheat crop adds supply to world markets and points to strong export volumes, which weighs on wheat prices. Higher average export prices, however, reflect firm underlying demand.
