OCBC Treasury Research expects crude palm oil production to recover in 2022 in Malaysia and Indonesia, with palm stocks returning above two million tonnes by Q3 2022. It forecasts palm oil at RM4,750 per tonne and sees soybean prices and crude oil moving higher.
A production recovery would ease palm supply, but OCBC expects prices to stay supported through the first half, while firmer soybean and crude oil prices lift the wider oilseed complex.
