US ethanol exports started 2022 at 123.8 million gallons, up 5% from December but 25% below the record January 2021 level. DDGS exports rose 16% in January to 1.09 million metric tons, the largest January volume on record.
Strong DDGS export volumes tighten available supply for domestic feed buyers and support DDGS prices relative to corn. Ethanol export flows are a secondary driver for corn demand.
