The EIA reports Brent crude has risen 59% in dollars since June 2021, partly due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. A stronger US dollar is also lifting crude prices for buyers using other currencies, a trend the agency notes has been unusual.
Dollar strength raises the local-currency cost of energy and imported feed inputs for non-US buyers, adding pressure on feed affordability even as oil and dollar rise together.
