The USDA's October 12, 2022 WASDE raised its 2022 US milk production forecast by 400 million pounds to 226.9 billion pounds. It also raised projected 2022 Class III and Class IV milk prices, while cutting hay and cottonseed production estimates.
Higher milk output is bearish for dairy prices, but stronger price forecasts partly offset that. Lower cottonseed production slightly tightens cottonseed meal supply.
