Mexico's Ministry of Agriculture forecasts 2023 domestic corn production rising by about 2 million tonnes to 28.5 million. White corn output is projected at 24.9 million tonnes and yellow corn at 3.61 million.
The increase is partly attributed to a free fertilizer program.
Higher Mexican domestic output could reduce its need for imported U.S. corn, particularly yellow corn for feed, which is mildly bearish for U.S. corn exports.
