The FAO said Thailand, Pakistan, Myanmar and Cambodia will likely offset reduced rice shipments from India and Vietnam, with Asian exports forecast at 55.4 million tonnes. Global rice reserves at the close of 2023-24 are forecast to rise 1.5% to 198.9 million tonnes, mostly from Indian stock accumulation.
Projected higher global reserves and offsetting supply from other exporters limit upside in rice prices, though India's continued curbs and stock build keep export availability uncertain.
