The Australian dollar fell to about 0.6230 against the US dollar on Monday, its lowest in over three weeks. The move followed a stronger US dollar, with the DXY near 104.40, amid risk aversion and tariff fears ahead of the April 2 US reciprocal tariff announcement.
Traders were also awaiting the RBA decision on Tuesday.
A firmer dollar and risk-off sentiment weigh on the AUD and on dollar-denominated grain and feed prices, while tariff uncertainty adds volatility to export demand expectations.
