CBOT soybean futures closed lower on Wednesday after touching a two-week low as the US-China trade war raised concerns about export demand. July soybeans settled down 8-1/4 cents at $10.44-1/2 per bushel, their lowest since April 16.
China's agriculture ministry pledged to stabilize key agricultural supplies.
Trade-war fears reduce expected Chinese purchases of US soybeans, pressuring US soybean and soymeal prices while Brazilian supply gains share. Lower soybean futures also weigh on soymeal costs for feed buyers.
