Soybeans closed sharply lower on May 15 as soybean oil fell its 3-cent limit on rumors that the EPA sent a biomass diesel RVO of 4.65 billion gallons to the White House, below the 5.25 billion expected. Soymeal rose $4.40 per ton, and NOPA reported April crush of 190.2 million bushels, above estimates.
The lower RVO rumor reduces biodiesel demand for soybean oil and pressures soybeans, while strong crush supports meal supply tightness and firmer soymeal prices.
