The Russian government raised base export prices for sunflower oil from 82,500 to 90,750 rubles per tonne and for sunflower meal from 15,875 to 17,463 rubles per tonne. These base prices are used to calculate floating export duties, so higher bases lower the duty rates.
Lower export duties improve margins for Russian crushers and should encourage more sunflower oil and meal exports, adding supply to world markets and modestly weighing on global sunflower product prices.
