The European Forest Institute reports that producer countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America are setting up task forces, upgrading traceability systems and reviewing legal frameworks in response to the EUDR. The report says smallholders face exclusion risks.
Evidence comes from eight countries and five commodity sectors.
Producer-country alignment with EUDR rules should help maintain export access for soy and palm oil into the EU. Risks of smallholder exclusion could reduce supply from some origins over time.
