USDA's Economic Research Service projects 2026/27 US corn production at 16.0 billion bushels, down 6%, with planted area of 95.3 million acres and yield of 183.0 bu/acre. Sorghum production is forecast at 367 million bushels with lower exports, and corn ending stocks are projected at 1.96 billion bushels with a $4.40 season-average price.
Tighter feed grain supplies and a smaller corn and sorghum crop point to firmer feed grain prices for buyers, even with large crops.
