An NDSU Agricultural Trade Monitor analysis reports China's agricultural imports are down 18% year-to-date, the steepest decline among major markets. US agricultural exports to China fell by $6.1 billion, while grain imports, especially wheat, corn and coarse grains, have collapsed.
Weak Chinese demand for grains and corn reduces export demand, while strong demand for soybean meal and corn elsewhere partly cushions prices.
