The US national diesel average fell 1.4 cents to $3.380 a gallon, ending a nine-week run of increases that had added 18.7 cents since August 20. The average remains 58.3 cents above a year earlier, and WTI traded at $70.79 a barrel on NYMEX, down from the prior week's average of $71.78.
Easing diesel and crude prices reduce fuel and transport costs for feed deliveries, though the annual increase keeps trucking expenses elevated.
