Reuters analysis describes how Russia's war in Ukraine accelerated a global energy crisis. Governments in the United States and Europe are shifting toward friendshoring of strategic supplies and expanding support for nuclear, solar, wind and hydrogen.
Major economies expect supply constraints in 2023 and possibly for years after.
Sustained supply constraints and reduced Russian gas flows keep global gas and LNG prices supported, and the shift to friendshoring may raise long-run energy costs. Higher energy costs feed into the cost of fertilizer and feed processing.
