Malaysia's palm oil minister said the US withdrawal from the TPP affects its target of exporting 20 billion ringgit of palm products to the 12 pact countries by 2021. Exports to those countries were over 13 billion ringgit in 2014.
Malaysia plans bilateral trade deals and more downstream products instead.
Loss of preferential access to TPP markets could redirect palm oil export flows and modestly weigh on demand growth in those markets.
