S&P Global's analysis says the Asian LNG benchmark JKM decoupled from oil and Henry Hub-linked pricing in 2018 and showed flatter seasonality. It also notes that flexible, market-priced LNG contracts signed in 2017 and 2018 will begin flowing in 2023 and 2024.
Growing LNG commoditization makes global gas pricing more independent of oil, which can change the cost of energy for fertilizer and processing inputs over the medium term.
