Pakistan's DAP offtake in March 2020 was about 79 thousand tonnes, up 21% from March 2019 despite lockdown measures. Cumulative Rabi 2019-20 offtake fell 7.3% year on year to 1,079 thousand tonnes.
The outlook projects Kharif 2020 offtake of about 956 thousand tonnes against domestic production of about 420 thousand tonnes.
Pakistan's DAP import needs for Kharif 2020 depend on the gap between expected offtake and domestic output, which supports import demand. The March rebound suggests demand is holding up despite the lockdown, leaving prices broadly steady.
