China's National Development and Reform Commission said pork prices are expected to stay relatively stable with no near-term hikes, as hog supplies grow. Authorities have released seven batches of pork from central reserves, including a record monthly volume of about 200,000 tonnes in September, and say they will release more if needed.
Expanding hog supply and government reserve releases reduce the likelihood of stronger hog-herd rebuilding demand for feed, which weighs on feed ingredient demand and hog prices.
