Vietnam's rice exports are projected to fall to 6.5-7.0 million tonnes this year from a record 8.1 million tonnes last year, as Vietnam shifts toward higher-quality, higher-priced rice. Demand from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, China and Africa is rising as El Nino is expected to last into mid-2024, and India's 5% broken parboiled rice reached a record price.
