NCBA, Mexico's CNOG and the Canadian Cattle Association signed a joint statement calling for oversight of lab-grown proteins and protection against animal disease. The groups also sent a letter to the US, Mexican and Canadian governments urging them to reopen beef export markets and apply science-based oversight to beef imports.
Calls for tighter beef import oversight and reopened export markets bear on trade flows that affect North American beef and cattle prices, but the statement itself does not change policy.
