DGFT Notification No. 62/2025-26 dated February 24, 2026 permits 25 lakh metric tonnes of wheat exports while the overall policy remains prohibited. The quota is over and above earlier government-approved food security exports.
Allocation and execution details will be issued through a separate Public Notice.
The policy opens a controlled export channel for Indian wheat, which adds modest competition for Black Sea and other origins. Any price effect depends on how quickly the allocation rules are issued.
