Indonesia has restricted exports of used cooking oil and palm oil residue, including palm oil mill effluent. Exporters must now obtain a government export allocation, and the rule takes effect immediately.

Tighter export flows of residue feedstocks reduce supply for global biodiesel and feed markets, which supports palm oil and related fats prices. Domestic priority also raises the risk of further export restrictions.
