The biofuel industry is pursuing new demand from Class I railroads, airlines and ocean shipping, with railroads consuming about 3 billion gallons of diesel per year. Railroads are testing renewable diesel and biodiesel blends, but fuel volume, price and locomotive testing remain barriers.
