TRANSCRIÇÃO
EU grain crop: down 9.6%. The European Commission estimates 2026/27 EU cereal production at 262 million tonnes. That is 9.6% below last year and 4.7% below the five-year average.
Heat and drought did the damage. Extreme heat and severe drought in key producing regions hit summer crops. Maize was the most affected.
Oilseeds held up better. Oilseed crops have shown resilience. That limits how much of the grain shortfall passes through to meal prices.
What it means for feed buyers. A smaller EU crop tightens feed grain supply and supports corn and barley. It also raises import demand from outside the bloc.
