Bank Negara Malaysia reported non-resident inflows of RM12.1 billion into Malaysian financial markets in May, lifting the ringgit 1.7 percent against the dollar. Foreign inflows also reached RM9 billion into government bonds, pushing yields lower.
Strong foreign inflows that strengthen the ringgit can lower the ringgit cost of Malaysian palm oil and make ringgit-denominated exports cheaper for dollar buyers. The impact on feed markets is limited.
