Feed barley bids in Alberta have firmed after harvest and are expected to hold up through winter, with barley and feed wheat both at C$215-220 per tonne in Lethbridge. Some U.S. corn is crossing the border, but most feeders still prefer barley.
Imported U.S. corn provides a ceiling on Canadian feed barley prices, while a healthy carry into spring supports the price floor for barley.
