The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 (P.L. 115-123) was passed by Congress on February 9, 2018, and includes $3.6 billion in FY2018 disaster assistance and $1.4 billion added to the 10-year farm bill baseline.
It also extends sequestration by two years and revises several agricultural programs, including dairy and cotton provisions.
Disaster aid and dairy margin changes can support producer herd and milk output decisions, while the cotton PLC change affects cotton planting and cottonseed meal supply. The impact on grain and feed prices is limited.
