Oil prices rebounded more than 4% on Wednesday after dropping about 7% on Monday. OPEC+ agreed to raise supply by 400,000 barrels per day from August through December.
Prices rose even though US crude inventories unexpectedly increased by 2.1 million barrels to 439.7 million, against analyst expectations of a 4.5 million-barrel draw.
The unexpected US crude stock build was bearish, but the rebound shows the market was recovering from an oversold selloff and was supported by the OPEC+ supply deal. For feed buyers, firmer crude supports energy-linked input costs and biofuel margins that underpin corn and vegetable oil demand.
