Statistics Canada reported canola ending stocks of 2.391 million tonnes as of July 31, about one million tonnes above the prior year but within trade expectations. Barley and all-wheat stocks were tighter than the previous year, and the report prompted little reaction in canola futures.
Canola carryout was near trade expectations, so the report is neutral for canola, while tighter barley and wheat stocks offer modest support to those grains and feed alternatives.
